Ricardo Montalban died at his home in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the age of 88.
When Montalban arrived in Hollywood from Mexico in the 1940s, he was urged to change his name to Ricky Martin.
Montalban starred in the movie "Fiesta" in 1946.
Montalban became known as much for his supple voice and accent as a pitchman for Chrysler.
Ricardo Montalban hit network series gold with his role as Mr. Roarke on the long running drama "Fantasy Island."
One of Montalban's signature roles was as Khan Noonien Singh in the feature film "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan."
Montalban remained a Mexican citizen his entire life.
