'American Idol' Judge Kara DioGuardi

As a songwriter and producer, DioGuardi's songs have appeared on more than 100 million records. She has worked with such artists as Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion and Carrie Underwood.

Kara DioGuardi, the newest 'Idol' judge gas won 10 BMI Pop Awards for having written the msot performed songs on the radio.

DioGuardi of New Rochelle, New York is of Italian and Albanian descent and is the daughter of former Republican Rep. Joseph J. DioGuardi.
