Sexiest Starlets of 2009

THE WILD-CARD: If you thought Sophie Monk, Isabel Lucas or Miranda Kerr were the sexiest starlets to emerge from Down Under, think again. 22-year-old Tahyna Tozzi is set to make a splash into the spotlight during 2009 after having worked closely alongside Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber and Will.i.am in the upcoming "X-Men" movie. The beachside beauty kicked off her career as a young model/singer before turning into soapie star on ABC's "Blue Water High" in her native Australia, but was discovered waiting tables in New York by a top Hollywood agent from Gersh less than two years ago. Tozzi is already adored by Paris Hilton (the heiress told Tarts that she "totally loves Tahyna") and even though the multi-talented singer/actress/DJ chooses to stay away from the temptations of Tinseltown, this girl is already on the radar of every pap and producer in show biz.

THE SONGSTRESS: She already has 31 million people following her on MySpace, but 21-year-old MySpace/Interscope recording artist/"One Tree Hill" star Kate Voegele is destined for world domination. She was initially signed to the MySpace label by (everybody’s friend) Tom Anderson himself, and this year spent her summer touring with Natasha Bedingfield. Kate has also done two Farm Aid gigs and shared stages with Dave Matthews, The Wreckers, John Mayer and the Counting Crows. Voegele is currently in L.A recording a new album slated for release in the new year.

THE ATHLETE: What Anna Kournikova and Maria Shapova did for women's tennis, Anna Rawson is going to do for women's golf. The 27-year-old Australian was discovered as a model by tween magazine "Dolly" (which also gave VS Angel Miranda Kerr her big break), but she quickly earned notoriety for swinging rather than strutting. Rawson received her official LPGA card in the LPGA Qualifying School in December, and as the first in line on the LPGA's conditional status list, the blonde beauty is tipped to do big things. Off the course, Anna is regularly featured in the pages of Vogue and GQ, and even signed an endorsement deal to not only be the official model and spokeswoman, but an integral designer for label J. Lindeberg. As GQ writer Benjie Goodhart said about Anna, "They say Tiger Woods made golf popular with people who previously felt excluded from the game. This player could make golf popular with people who hate golf."

THE DJ: It’s time to stop talking about DJ Samantha Ronson - there’s another girl spinner in Tinseltown: JaKissa “DJ Kiss” Taylor. The super-sexy DJ already gets flown around the world to spin for the private parties for notorious night owl Diddy as well as Chris Brown, Tyra Banks and Donatella Versace. To top it off, the Louisiana-born babe was recently crowned "Woman on the Verge" by Playboy.com.

THE SUPERMODEL: She’s only 18 years old, but already Californian native Chanel Iman has graced the covers of U.S Vogue and TIME Magazine, as well as being the fresh face (and fab body) for campaigns such as Victoria’s Secret PINK and GAP. Oh, and Iman regularly roams the runways for Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs and Michal Kors so it comes as little surprise that the 5’10" glamazon is deemed the up and coming "it" girl on the global fashion scene. We’re also told Iman has a major TV production in the works for the new year, so stay tuned.

THE HEIRESS: Paris Hilton step down, you're being replaced by sexy bestie Caroline D'Amore. The uber-beautiful 24-year-old is heiress to the popular D'Amore Pizza chain (she and her sister still own Amore Pizza), but is becoming known for much more than her family name. D'Amore is an established DJ in Hollywood's elite social circles, has had a successful modeling career having walked for the likes of Heatherette, Stella McCartney, and Diane von Furstenberg, and has appeared on the covers of Teen Vogue and Seventeen. The itty bitty babe also started her own swimwear label entitled D'Amore by Marceau, and has been a hit at Los Angeles Fashion Week for the past two years. But Caroline is not stopping there. She's branched out into acting and has been featured in HBO's "Entourage" and movies such as "Daydreamer" and "Ghost Game." The brunette beauty is also set to appear in her first leading roles in the forthcoming films "Rollers" and "Pizza With Bullets". Onward and upward!

THE MOVIE STAR: It won’t be long before Kate Mara moves and shakes every big and small screen across the globe. The 25-year-old stunner, who already has over a decade of experience in the reel realm, first hit the big time as Heath Ledger’s daughter in Ang Lee’s Award Winning drama "Brokeback Mountain." In Spring '09 Miss Mara can be seen in "Open Road" with Justin Timberlake, Jeff Bridges and Mary Steenburgen, as well as "Stone of Destiny," where she plays opposite Billy Boyd. Also an accomplished singer, Kate made her professional debut at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in "Landscape of the Body" with Lili Taylor.

THE TV STAR: Blake and Leighton who? The new "Gossip Girl" glamming up the small screen is Jessica Szohr. The 23-year-old was discovered at age 16 where she began working as a Kohl's Department Store model, but she’s more than a pretty face. Szohr currently stars in the CW sensation "Gossip Girl" as Vanessa Abrams, and has appeared in such TV shows as "What About Brian" and "CSI: Miami." You can also see the sweet-faced starlet in music videos for "Over You" by Daughtry and "Best Days" by Matt White.

THE DISNEY DAMSEL: We can credit Walt Disney for bringing us a bevy of beauties, from Britney Spears and Keri Russell to Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus, but next year it’s all about Demi Lovato. With her deep dimples and perky persona (not to mention her mama was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, so she’s certainly genetically blessed) it won’t be long before the 16-year-old Texan is boosting her bank balance in very a big way. Lovato appeared as Angela on "Barney and Friends," a role she played for two years alongside her best friend, Selena Gomez. The talented teen released her first solo album "Don’t Forget" in September, and spent the summer writing songs and touring with her good pals, The Jonas Brothers.

THE REALITY STAR: Let’s face it, we’re all a little tired of Lauren and Audrina, so its time they stepped aside and let fellow "The Hills" hottie Whitney Port take center stage. The 23-year-old chose not to move in with the girls on Season 3 of the show to instead focus on her "real" life as a budding fashionista and her hard work away from the lights and camera has certainly paid off. Earlier this year Port launched the cocktail and party line Whitney Eve, but come 2009 we’ll be seeing much more of this leggy lass. Whitney's very own "The Hills" spin-off "The City" debuts on MTV on December 29, and centers around her move to New York City to work for top designer Diane von Furstenberg.
