Francisca Ramos dos Santos, 38, gave birth to the healthy boy named Ademilton. He was the largest baby born at the Albert Sabin Maternity Hospital in its 12-year history, the hospital said. "Obviously the baby was born by Caesarean section," hospital director Rita Leal said. "Both mother and baby are doing just fine."

• February 2, 2005: Wendy Bullock holds her son, Jacob Aaron Ryon, in the hallway of her mother's home in Oregon. Baby Jacob was born Jan. 25, 2005 weighing 14 pounds, 1 ounce. He was deliverd by Caesarean section at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville, Ore. The child was so big he busted out of newborn-sized diapers and his one-piece sleepers. Jacob is one of the biggest newborns in Central Oregon in recent memory.
