• Oct. 23: Iraqi army soldiers insect a damaged car after a suicide car bomber targeted a government convoy, in Bab al-Sharji area, central Baghdad, Iraq. The suicide car bomber targeted an Iraqi minister during rush hour Thursday morning in Baghdad, killing at least 13 people and wounding more than 20 others. The Shiite minister, Mahmoud Mohammed al-Radhi, escaped unharmed but three of his guards were killed, officials said.
• Oct. 23: Medics treat wounded Ahmed Abdala 25, in a hospital, in Baghdad. Abdala is one of twenty wounded after suicide car bomber targeted an Iraqi minister's convoy in central Baghdad. In the attack 13 people were killed, officials said.

Iraqi officials Wednesday reported finding mass graves with the remains of 34 people, most believed to have been Iraqi army recruits waylaid three years ago by al-Qaida gunmen as they traveled to a training base near the Syrian border.
