• July 21, 2008: Police walk down a street near a house where a gunman is believed to be barricaded in Maplewood, Mo. A suburban St. Louis firefighter was shot to death Monday and two other emergency workers were injured in the standoff. Police and tactical units surrounded the around the house after a gunman fired shots at emergency workers.
