• July 27: Nicole Richie arrives at the courthouse in Glendale, Calif., on the arm of her boyfriend Joel Madden. Richie pleaded guilty Friday to driving under the influence of drugs and was sentenced to 90 hours in jail and fined $2,048 by a judge who said she was lucky nobody was killed when she drove the wrong way on a freeway.

Law enforcement officials say they are still trying to find out who is responsible for the crime.

• July 27: The media surrounds Michael Lohan as he arrives for divorce proceedings at state Supreme Court in Mineola, N.Y. A judge chided Michael Lohan for his failure to make child support payments to Lindsay Lohan's younger brother and sister since his release from prison earlier this year.
• July 27: Eric Hainstock, center, is seen with his attorneys Rhoda Ricciardi and Jon Helland during his trial in Baraboo, Wis. Hainstock is charged with first-degree murder and is being tried as an adult in the Sept. 29 shooting death of Weston Schools Principal John Klang.

• July 26: People listen to information from the group Mexicans Without Borders regarding a resolution by the Prince William County board to limit services to illegal immigrants living in the county, outside All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas, Va. The group discussed an economic boycott and march to protest the proposed changes. The meeting was held outdoors after the gymnasium became too crowded.
• July 27: Joe Nacchio the former head of Qwest Communications, arrives at the federal courthouse with his wife Anne in Denver, Colo. Nacchio faces a maximum of seven years, three months in prison, a $19 million fine and forfeiture of as much as $52 million in assets for his April conviction on 19 counts of insider trading.
• July 26: Cynthia Lucia, dressed as a green Martian, sips a frozen green tea drink while taking a break on the first day of the Comic-Con International convention in San Diego. The annual comic and popular culture convention attracts more than 100,000 people annually.
