• And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

    Cool Your Jets

While some of President Obama's wealthiest supporters are asking him to raise their taxes at least one high roller has finally gotten fed up.

Ted Leonsis is a very successful entrepreneur and a prolific Democratic donor. He has written a scathing blog post titled "Class Warfare - Yuck!"

Quote -- "I voted for our President. I have maxed out on personal donations to his re-election campaign. I forgot his campaign wants to raise $1 billion. That is a lot of money-money-money-money! Money still talks. It blows my mind when I am asked for money as a donation at the same time I am getting blasted as being a bad guy!"

Former California Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger apparently will not let personal scandal stop his contribution to the art world.

The New York Daily News reports he has commissioned at least three statues showing him during his body-building prime. The statues will be eight feet tall, weigh 580 pounds, and cost roughly $100,000 apiece.

And finally, a new Canadian lawmaker's online profile picture seems to have, well, been modified.

29-year-old Rathika Sitsabaiesan came to international attention as a surprise winner from the New Democratic Party (NDP).

Britain's Globe and Mail reports that as the first Canadian parliament member born in the Tamil region of Sri Lanka, she might be the most compelling of the new crop of young lawmakers from the NDP.

Her official online parliamentary profile now displays this picture. But a reader of the Canadian website Contrarian, notes that this was the original image.

It's unclear whether the change was at the request of the NDP caucus, from the lawmaker herself, or on the parliamentary website's own authority.
