Papal Conclave

Lightning strikes the Vatican!

A photo of a lightning bolt that appears to be striking St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican was taken Monday evening..the photo was taken hours after Pope Benedict XVI announced he will step down at the end of month. The photo was taken by Filippo Monteforte, a photographer with Agence France Press. While some are doubting the actual photo, one meteorologist and known lightning photographer, Jesse Ferrell, believes it is real. What's a bit spooky, Ferrell says, is "that it doesn't appear from a Google Image Search that a similar image has ever been captured before...."
