Rick Folbaum

Rick Folbaum is an anchor for Fox News Channel (FNC). He joined FNC 10 years ago but left for three years to become an anchor at WNYW Fox 5 in New York in 2006. In 2009, Folbaum returned to FNC and currently handles breaking news for "Happening Now" during the week and anchors "America's News Headquarters" on Saturdays.

As anchor of WNYW's "Fox 5 News at 6," Folbaum anchored live breaking coverage of some major news events including the Hudson River landing of US Airways Flight 1549, the Governor Spitzer sex scandal, the Wall Street meltdown and Pope Benedict's 2008 New York visit. Folbaum won an Emmy for his reporting on the 2008 9/11 remembrance ceremonies.

During his first stint at FNC, Folbaum anchored coverage on a multitude of national and international stories, including former President Bill Clinton's impeachment trial, the explosion of the space shuttle Columbia, the United States invasion of Iraq, and the terrorist attacks on 9/11. He reported from lower Manhattan on 9/11 and was a block away from the towers as they fell. Folbaum also served as anchor of the weekend edition of "The Fox Report," a substitute anchor for the weekday edition of "The Fox Report" and a weekend anchor for "Fox News Live."

Additionally, Folbaum spent a year-and-a-half traveling the globe as a foreign correspondent for FNC, based in London. While working overseas, he covered the Kosovo War, the conflict in the Middle East, the peace process in Northern Ireland, Prince Edward's royal wedding, the investigation into Princess Diana's fatal car crash, and the 2000 Millennium celebrations.

Some of Folbaum's other work experiences include MSNBC in 1996, America's Talking from 1995-1996, KSPN FM (NRC Broadcasting) in Aspen from 1994-1995, where his breaking coverage of a tragedy involving 14 firefighter deaths at Storm King Mountain won a Best Reporting Award from the Associated Press. He also worked for WOR AM (Clear Channel Communications) in New York and WTXF (FOX) in Philadelphia from 1992-1994. While a student at Syracuse University, from 1987-1991, Folbaum held positions at WSYR AM, (Clear Channel), WSTM TV (NBC), and the university radio station, UUTV.

He holds a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Folbaum, his wife and their four children live in the New York City area.
