John Shadegg

John Shadegg joined the Fox News Channel in 2011 as a contributor.

Shadegg is the former U.S. representative for the 3rd Congressional District of Arizona, serving from 1995 until 2011. During his tenure, he served as the chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, the fifth-ranking position in the House leadership. He gained a national profile when he resigned from this position and ran for House majority leader. He also founded and served as chairman of the Republican Study Committee and was named to the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming where he voted to create both residential and commercial solar tax credits.

Shadegg earned both his B.A and J.D. from the University of Arizona.
