Jim Pinkerton

Jim Pinkerton currently serves as a contributor for FOX News Channel (FNC). He joined the network in 2006.

Pinkerton provides political and media analysis and commentary on current events across FNC’s daytime and primetime programming.

Previously, he served on the White House staff as director of political affairs under President Ronald Reagan and as deputy assistant to the president for policy planning for President George H. W. Bush. He was also a member of the campaign staff during the 1980, 1984, 1988 and 1992 Republican presidential campaigns. In 2008, Pinkerton was a senior advisor to Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign. He is a fellow at the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C. and a former columnist for Newsday.

Pinkerton is the author of "What Comes Next: The End of Big Government and the New Paradigm Ahead" and his work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times and USA Today among others.

He received a B.A. in political science from Stanford University.
