• September of 2012, just days after the brutal murders of four Americans at the diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, I was perhaps the first to say outright that our government had lied to us about what happened.

It's been nearly two years, and through subsequent hearings, leaks, investigative reports, and ever changing stories from the current administration, I have never had to recant or clarify my original blunt statement. This week, Judicial Watch finally obtained bombshell e-mails revealing that top White House aide Ben Rhodes instructed Susan Rice to go on five Sunday talk shows and spin the lie that the attack at Benghazi was due to a You Tube video. It took a lawsuit to get that piece of information, but even caught with its pants down, the White House continued to play the American public for fools, giving these indefensible comments like these from White House press hack Jay "Con Man" Carney.

JONATHAN KARL, ABC NEWS: Why were you holding back this information? Why was this e-mail not turned over to the Congress? Why was it not release when you released all the other e-mails? This is directly relevant. Why did you hold it back?

KARL: Why did it take a court case for you to release this e-mail? Why was it classified?

CARNEY: Jon, I can say it again and again and I know you can keep asking again and again, this document was not about Benghazi.

Right. But it's not only President Obama who has, as Ricky Ricardo would say, "some splaining to do," but should Hillary Clinton announce her candidacy for president, she's going to have some "splaining to do" as well. Remember when she was a candidate for president in 2008, and her famous ad attempted to portray her as one ready to take the call about a crisis at 3:00am

Well as it turned out, it wasn't a 3: 0 am call waking her out of an Ambien induced stupor that we needed to worry about. It was a call around 5:00 in the afternoon coming from desperate American personnel under attack and begging for their lives. And now, there is no record that she even had a conversation with the president that night about the events that would end the lives of four Americans. There is record of the president going to bed, getting a good night's sleep before he jetted off the next day in Air Force One for a political fundraiser in Las Vegas. But no special forces were scrambled to rush to the sound of the guns in Benghazi and try and rescue our fellow Americans under siege. Another surreal moment came Thursday night when in an interview with Bret Baier, Tommy Vietor, former deputy national security spokesman pretended he really couldn't remember something as trivial as Benghazi.

BRET BAIER, FOX NEWS HOST, "SPECIAL REPORT": Did you also change "attacks" to "demonstrations" in the talking points?

    BAIER: You don't remember?

VIETOR: Dude, this was like two years ago, we're still talking about the most mundane process of -

BAIER: Dude, it is the thing that everybody is talking about.

Really? Is this someone we gave top security clearance to? I mean he sounds like a scene from "Wayne's World"? Look, I would love for him to have to face the families of the four Americans murdered that night and say, "oh, dude, that was two years ago." It's disgraceful!

The cover up of the original lie was told so often, that Democratic members of Congress became immune to the tragedy and fought any attempts to get to the truth as some kind of partisan witch hunt, most of the mainstream press, of course, ignored the story, and the White House even became so bold as to call the entire incident a "phony scandal." President Obama, Vice President Biden, and Hillary Clinton all looked those family members in the eye and promised they would get to the bottom of it. They even said that they would find out who was responsible for that little video. Well, maybe that was easier than trying to find out who was responsible for the actual murders and the subsequent lies and cover-ups. They knew then and they know now that the attack was not about a video.

We once had real newspapers and broadcast news outlets that cared about a government lying to the people. Lying and covering up in Watergate ultimately resulted in a president resigning and several of his top aides going to prison. But there are big differences between Watergate and Benghazi. [In Watergate], the press didn't look the other way and in Watergate neither did Congress. Oh, and in Watergate, no one died.

I promised Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone Woods, that I wouldn't forget the sacrifice of his son.

I keep a photo of Tyrone that Charles gave me, I keep it right in my office as reminder. And that photo's not coming down until the truth does and until somebody answers for what happened. And I'm going to serve notice to Hillary if she runs for president -- sooner or later, you're going to have to answer for this.

HILLARY CLINTON, FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE: What difference at this point does it make?

Well let me tell you the difference. Those four murdered that night couldn't run or hide, and Hillary, neither can you.
