      More fallout over the controversial swap of 5 top Taliban leaders for Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl. Today there will be an all-member, classified intelligence briefing at 5pm.. on both Bergdahl and Afghanistan. We're also expecting more reaction from Capitol Hill over the latest in the case.

    • D-Day 70th Anniversary

      It's the 70th anniversary of D-Day. As I write this, President Obama is marking the day on Omaha Beach in Normandy, France with French President Francois Hollande. More than 9,000 soldiers died on D-Day as the Allied rescue of Europe got underway in 1944. President Obama says the American commitment to liberty is "written in blood," on the beaches of Normandy.

    • New Fox Polls; Pres Obama says "No Apologies" Over Sgt Bergdahl

      The controversy over the Sgt Bowe Bergdahl prisoner swap for 5 Taliban leaders continues to dominate the news cycle. Senator Lindsey Graham is calling for open hearings into the deal, what led up to it, and what the administration said about it. Calls for patience in finding out what Bergdahl has to say for himself are being drowned out by calls for someone's head over the whole thing.

    • Reading Results from Summer Super Tuesday; Growing Controversy over Sgt. Bergdahl/Taliban Exchange

      The scandal over the trade of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl for five top Taliban continues to rage this morning. The Taliban just released at 17 minute video showing the handover of Bergdahl to U.S. forces in Eastern Afghanistan. The Taliban also released a statement calling it a significant achievement.

      President Obama is in Poland showing support for one of our strongest allies in the face of Russian aggression, and honoring the 25th anniversary of Poland's freedom from communism.

      The White House set to unveil tough new carbon emissions standards today. The move is the most significant today for President Obama in tackling global warming. The President proposing a 30% reduction in carbon emissions (from 2005 levels) by 2030. It could mean shutting down many coal fired plants in the United States.     • Growing Calls for VA Secy Shinseki to Resign

      There are growing calls this morning for the Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki to resign. Those calls increasingly bipartisan. Several prominent democratic senators calling on Shinseki to step down including Udall of Colorado, Walsh of Montana and Franken of Minnesota. It comes on the heels of a scathing report from the chief VA watchdog that hospital officials in Phoenix and perhaps elsewhere had tried to hide significant delays in treating vets.
