• Monday September 23, 2013 Happening Now - Explosions/Gunfire Heard in Mall Under Terror Siege

Right now, wire reports suggest a violent ending may be under way in the Kenya mall terror attack. Black smoke is being seen on the Nairobi skyline near the mall and there have been several explosions heard.

The attack on the Mall began Saturday with an invasion of the Westgate mall in the Kenyan capital. The Associated Press is now reporting hostages still being held by the suspected Al-Qaeda linked Shabab (Somalia) terrorists have *not* been released as previously had been reported. Early reports suggest at least 65 people have been killed and more than 100 injured. Terrorists entered the mall and started killing people who looked non-Muslim. We've got Fox team coverage and guests today. Catherine Herridge, Leland Vittert and Conor Powell reporting.

Another country to discuss today in Africa is Yemen where two suspected Al Qaeda attacks on military stations left 38 dead according the AP.

A suicide bombing at a Christian church in Pakistan has left 81 dead and Christians in Pakistan are taking to the streets today in protest.

President Obama headed for New York City today and the U.N. where three huge issues are up for discussion. 1. Iran's nuke program 2. Syria's use of chemical weapons and 3. Peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis. A meeting between Iran's new President and Obama is possible this week.

The new U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power is facing a huge test this week as well and is trying to strike the right balance on Syria.

Yesterday President Obama, urged a renewed fight against the availability of guns in the U.S. in a memorial service for victims of last week's Navy Yard victims. 13 were killed including the shooter in a mass shooting at the DC facility last Monday. 8 more wounded.

There's just one week until the government shuts down unless lawmakers come up with a deal to fund the government. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas says he supports stripping the funding for Obamacare which the GOP-controlled House did last week in exchange for funds for the government. Cruz says a shutdown is inevitable unless the Democrats abandon the Affordable Care Act. President Obama and Hill Dems say that's a non-starter.

A New York Times story out today suggests many health care insurers are drastically limiting the number of choices for doctors and hospitals available to consumers under new plans spurred by Obamacare. Consumers are being warned to be prepared for fewer choices of care.
