A fireworks accident in Simi Valley, California left at least 28 people injured. A fireworks container (ordnance) was fired into the crowd by accident with fireworks firing sideways and hitting people. Shrapnel injuries are reported.
The Zimmerman murder trial gets back underway today at 8:30am. The second degree murder trial of George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin is wrapping up.. as prosecutors begin winding down their case.. There is rampant speculation that Trayvon's mother, Sybrina Fulton, and/or his father, Tracy Martin, could take the stand and testify today. The parents insist it is their son's voice heard on a 911 call screaming for help. Zimmerman says he was attacked by Trayvon and killed him in self-defense. We'll be dipping into the trial live throughout the show.

Striking transit workers in the San Francisco Bay Area are back on the job today despite not having a contract. They went on strike Monday and the strike snarled the commute for hundreds of thousands earlier this week. BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) workers' old contract has been extended by 30 days while negotiations continue.
The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is calling for "Friday of Rejection" protests throughout Egypt. The Brotherhood calling for violence in reaction to the Coup d'etat that took Mohammed Morsi from power on Wednesday. The Egyptian Army seized power, named a high court justice to president and is in the process of arresting high-profile Brotherhood members. Conor Power and Greg Palkot are in Cairo.
Spain says it and other European nations were told that Edward Snowden was on a plane carrying Bolivian President Evo Morales that was forced to land in Austria earlier this week. The forced landing has caused an international incident. Snowden was not on board. In fact the NSA leaker is still holed up as a ‘man without a country' in a Moscow airport.
The World Health Organization is going to convene an emergency committee to discuss the possible spread of a severe corona-virus that has killed some 38 people and infected people in at least eight countries. The SARS-like bug is being called an outbreak. We'll ask Dr Samadi about it.
