      How cool is that?

      An unpleasant Christmas surprise from North Korea last night. The dictatorship successfully fired a long range rocket. North Koreans danced in the streets of Pyongyang. The rocket apparently delivered something into orbit. The North Koreans say it’s a satellite. The White House called it a “highly provocative act that threatens regional security.”

      Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is in Kabul on a surprise trip to meet with top commanders and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

      Iran says it now has the ability to manufacture an advanced drone similar to the one they captured last year. Meantime, Iran has indicted 18 American officials for “crimes against Iran.” No further details…? This as the IAEA is scheduled to hold talks this week the Iranians.. it’s apparently hoping to get access to the Parchin nuke site.

      The United States is recognizing a Syrian opposition group as the “sole legitimate representative” of the Syrian people. This as an international meeting on Syria is calling on Assad to step aside and warning him against using chemical weapons.

      President Obama pushing his plans on the so-called fiscal cliff today in a Noon phone call with a bipartisan group of mayors and community leaders.

      A masked gunman opened fire on Christmas shoppers at a mall in suburban Portland, Oregon.. killing two before turning the gun on himself. Horrific pictures and video.

      Pedro Hernandez is scheduled to be in court today. He’s charged with killing six year old Etan Patz back in 1979. He’s expected to plead not guilty.

      The Vatican’s top astronomer says not to worry about the world ending on December 22nd. PHEW!

      Remember that’s the date some say the Mayan’s predicted for the end of the world.

      Lindsay Lohan could have her probation revoked today in a hearing in Los Angeles. She will not be in court, but is facing substantial jail time for violating probation.
