Fresh protests in Afghanistan today.. allegedly over the low budget anti-Islam film that has been roundly denounced. Hundreds of protesters are burning cars and throwing rocks at a U.S. military base. It's the fourth day of protests there. Hezbollah is calling for more attacks today.
Also today, we've learned an attack on an heavily fortified base in southern Afghanistan (Camp Bastion) was much worse than previous thought with more than $200 million dollars in damage (NY Times).
Over the weekend four U.S. service members will killed in a so-called "insider attack" on NATO forces in Southern Afghanistan.
There is a growing debate about whether the attack on the U.S. in Libya last week was planned. The Obama administration says it was a spontaneous eruption of violence, but others say it has all the markings of a pre-meditated attack. We'll put the question to our guests.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamim Netanyahu is warning that Iran is just six or seven months from having 90 percent of what it needs to make an atomic bomb. He would not directly criticize President Obama on "Meet the Press," but did renew his calls for a red line in the sand from the U.S. to Iran over its nuke program.
