      Republicans are beginning to gather in Tampa for the GOP convention which officially begins on Monday. Lots of planning still going on including preps for the impact of what may become a Hurricane - Isaac. Right now Isaac is still a tropical storm and heading for Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Most models still have it headed for the gulf and turning into a hurricane. Right now the biggest concern for Tampa is flooding.

      Republican officials now saying they will begin the roll call vote to officially nominate Governor Mitt Romney for President on Monday.. that could allow him to accept the nomination earlier than in previous conventions and avoid any drama. Mister Romney speaks on Thursday.

      Peggy Noonan will preview the convention for us, and we'll ask her what kind of a bounce she's expecting for the GOP.

      Governor Romney and his pick for VP - Paul Ryan-will be at a rally in Michigan today during our hours.. We will likely take some of this live. Carl Cameron is there.

      Quiet schedule for President Obama. He heads to Camp David this evening.

      VP Biden and his wife will attend a campaign event tonight on Long Island.

      New Fox polling suggests a very tight race. It's the first time Fox has released a poll of "likely voters," this year. It show Romney/Ryan leading Obama/Biden by a single point 45 to 44%. We'll get a little more into it.

      Progress to report in the battle against far Northern California wildfires. Air tankers and choppers are dropping fire retardant. 64 homes and 20 other buildings have been destroyed. Dan Springer continues our reporting.

      Cycling legend Lance Armstrong will be stripped of all of his seven Tour de France titles and his Olympic bronze medal. He is giving up after a seven year battle against the U.S. anti-doping agency which accused him of using performance-enhancing drugs. He's been banned from the sport for life.

      Oslo massacre murderer Anders Breivik was declared sane and sentenced to bomb and gun attacks that killed 77 people last year in Norway. He gets a long jail sentence that is likely to be extended indefinitely.
