As reported on The Fox Nation earlier today, it appears that the U.S. Department of Justice has sent a threatening letter to the state of Oklahoma. The letter warns that state's attorney general not to pursue an English-only referendum on the 2010 ballot and says adopting such a provision could violate the civil rights of some Oklahoma residents.

There has been an effort in Oklahoma to adopt English as the state's official language. But, the movement is now in question thanks to the letter from Eric Holder's Justice Department.

Congresswoman Mary Fallin (R-OK) and several of her colleagues have asked Holder to both justify and clarify the letter. Click here to read the statement released by Congresswoman Fallin.

Is this intervention by the federal government a clear violation of state's rights or is the attorney general doing the right thing?
