• Pity Poor Mexico

      By Geraldo Rivera

Ever since President Felipe Calderon declared war on the drug dealers, his nation has been exposed as a narco-state where violence and intimidation is epidemic. Along with the 40,000 civilians killed, 40 reporters have also been murdered, often silencing their publications. And In response to self-censorship among Mexico's mainstream newspapers and television shows, a generation of ‘Twitteros' has been born. Many of the users of social media are courageous whistle-blowers. Some though are exaggerating panic-mongers who are now been pursued over-aggressively as if they were the problemo not the narco-traficantes.
