JON SCOTT, HOST OF "FOX NEWS WATCH" (voice-over): On "Fox News Watch" --

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MITT ROMNEY, (R), FORMER MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNOR & PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: Some people study it and come to know conservatism by their readings. I've actually live conservativism in my life, in my home, in my family, in my faith also in business.

RICK SANTORUM, (R), FORMER PENNSYLVANIA SENATOR & PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: I'm not for the government getting involved in bailouts, period. That, to me, is something that the folks in Detroit say, well, look, he is a man of principle.

    (END VIDEO CLIP)

SCOTT: The two GOP front-runners keep up the pressure, running news ads, vying for media attention. And getting some attention they don't need.

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, HOST OF, "ON THE RECORD": I don't know. The only thing I know what he said. Right now, he is 0-1 with me.

SANTORUM: It was a stupid joke.

    (END VIDEO CLIP)

SCOTT: And as for the other two in the race, some in the media are calling for Gingrich and Paul to step aside and stop the distractions. Is it right for the press to push them out?

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TUCKER CARLSON, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, THE DAILY CALLER: The line that we had that somebody that worked at Media Matters for a long time was, and I'm quoting now, "We basically write their primetime. Anything we write, particularly, anything that pertains to Fox News --"

    (END VIDEO CLIP)

SCOTT: The Daily Caller calls out left wing media mudslinging Media Matters, reporting its influence over liberal media, including MSNBC, and telling ties to the Obama White House. The D.C. reports also reveals memos proving Media Matters planned attacks on Fox News. So what should happen now?

A superstar singer dies and the media go wall-to-wall with coverage, but Bill O'Reilly thinks media failed.

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BILL O'REILLY, HOST OF, "THE O'REILLY REPORT": Name me one media commentator, outside of myself, who said, hey, Whitney, you better knock it off or you're going to be in the ground.

    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Maybe --

    (CROSSTALK)

    O'REILLY: Give me one.

    UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Listen, maybe --

    (END VIDEO CLIP)

SCOTT: And the media go Linsane over New York Knick's Jeremy Lin's Cinderella story.

(on camera): On the panel this week, writer and Fox News contributor, Judy Miller; New York Daily News columnist, Andrea Tantaros; Jim Pinkerton, contributing editor, the American Conservative magazine; USA Today and Daily Beast columnist, Kirsten Powers.

I'm Jon Scott. "Fox News Watch" is on right now.

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

FOSTER FRIESS, SANTORUM CAMPAIGN DONOR: And the contraceptive thing, it's so inexpensive. You know, back in my days, they used aspirin for contraceptives. The gals put it between their knees. And it wasn't that costly.

SANTORUM: He told a bad off-color joke and he shouldn't have done it. But that's his business. It certainly does, in my opinion, reflect on the campaign or me because he wasn't doing it as part of our campaign.

    (END VIDEO CLIP)

SCOTT: That was GOP presidential candidate, Rick Santorum, responding to the strong media reaction to the remark you heard there, something one of his supporters said, about the issue of contraception earlier in the week.

Jim, it got all kinds of media attention. And it was essentially blamed on the Santorum campaign, why?

JIM PINKERTON, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR: Santorum has strangely enough chosen to allow this big donor to the super PAC, Foster Friess, to be on the stage with him. It used to be, there was at least a present tense of distance between your super PAC and your campaign. And now, if you're on stage together, well, --

    (CROSSTALK)

PINKERTON: -- including the media. Friess is effectively a part, not just of his own independent thing, but of the Santorum campaign.

SCOTT: I think Judy is nodding in agreement?

JUDY MILLER, WRITER & FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Absolutely. And moreover, if the media are upset about his comment, wait until they just hear everything that Rick Santorum believes about contraception and women's rights. And then we'll see how far to the right a candidate he is.
