Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will take over as Governor of Alaska in a few weeks, continued to defend Sarah Palin this morning on Fox News Sunday.
"Governor Palin accomplished more in two and half years in office than most governors accomplish in one or even two terms here," Parnell said.
On why she's resigning, Parnell says it was due to the weight on her. "The cost of all the ethics investigations, and personal attacks, caused an inability on her ability to govern."
Both Karl Rove and Former Arkansas Governer Mike Huckabee say Palin has engaged in a "risky strategy."
Huckabee said that Palin's announcement to resign while still in her first term doesn't make sense in a conventional political setting. Although Rove says, Palin can't be a conventional candidate and she's never been one.
According to Parnell, Palin still has plenty of time to define how she will further her core values. Although Rove says she has now lost control of her time and raised expectations to demonstrate effective leadership.
Huckabee, who ran for president in 2008, says he isn't sure if he'll run in 2012. He does say that Palin remains a viable candidate despite her decision to quit the governor's office.
