ISIS THREAT FUELING NEW CALLS TO SECURE AMERICA'S SOUTHERN BORDER

GARY B SMITH: Getting across the border is the easiest way to enter our country. Isis has made a specific threat on the US, it's pure evil. They are the big bully in town and we need to do whatever we can to protect ourselves and go after them.

TRACY BYRNES: We have wasted so much time and so many mistakes in the past, it's unfortunate there is no appetite with this now. These guys are the worst of the worst and they have what it takes to make a big error here in the United States.

JONAS FERRIS: No! We have another border on the north too. There is no reason why people can't go through the Canadian border either. Beefing up southern border will do zero.

JOHN LAYFIELD: Yes, look what happened at 9/11. NYT estimated it cost us $3.3 trillion not to mention the horrific loss of life. These guys are not like the Taliban, they are sophisticated well-funded terrorists. We have to secure the border, it's no longer about refugees and immigration it's about securing our country right now.

SASHA BURNS: Absolutely, with the crisis right now it just shows where we have gotten with our government not being able to function.

FERGUSON RIOTS SPARKING NEW CALLS FOR POLICE TO WEAR CAMERAS

GARY B SMITH: It does work. It's been tried out in California where the police wore cameras on their vests, and they saw a decrease in the use of police force by 60 percent and a decrease in the complaints by citizens against the police by 88 percent. The evidence is clear in this place, I don't want to spend a zillion dollars but the price is coming down and I think this makes sense.

SASHA BURNS: The prices are coming down and will continue to come down just like phones have. I don't think it should be nationally funded- which is what the petition calls for- because I think there a lot of areas it would be effective and others like a small town where it wouldn't be the best use of resources.

TRACY BYRNES: The towns that need it the most are probably the towns that can't afford to pay for it. They are doing this in the NFL! If we can do that, than we should be protecting our men and woman in blue sacrificing us.

JONAS FERRIS: I like surveillance but not on an individual. This isn't going to help, forget the cost let's pretend it's free. Most cops aren't criminal's maybe we should be putting cameras on criminals when they get out of prison so we can keep an eye on them, they're the ones doing the crimes. I think a regular neutral surveillance system is what you need, wearing them on you is an infringement of rights.

JOHN LAYFIELD: This protects citizens and police officers. This camera will root out a lot of these problems that happen he said/she said post fact.

RUSSIA SHUTTING DOWN FOUR MCDONALDS BRANCHES IN MOSCOW

TRACY BYRNES: Every dollar that comes out of our country is a bad thing right now; we are on such shaky ground as an economy. This will hit the stock eventually and it will hurt us at the end of the day. We're talking about 35,000 employees being affected here. They are taking a huge shot at the US here.

GARY B SMITH: The sanctions are working, that is the bottom line and goal. Sometimes you have to pay the price.

JOHN LAYFIELD: Its banks not tanks, we are not putting tough sanctions though. We have a president golfing and a Congress on vacation. We are a 5 foot guy in 10 feet of water right now when dealing with Russia, it's embarrassing.

SASHA BURNS: It will end up hurting Putin in the end. The people who are really hurt by this is the Russians, the consumers and Russian workers.

JONAS FERRIS: The bottom line is- the empire that they are rebuilding over there is energy sales. We have to cut into that somehow with Europe, so they can't grow into these territories.
