OHIO SHERIFF TO MEXICO: PICK UP THE TAB FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

CHARLES PAYNE: I love the idea, at least bringing it into the conversation. I'm glad someone is changing the conversation; either secure your borders and don't let these people escape in the first place or pay us for taking care of them.

BEN STEIN: I think it's a ridiculous situation that the US, which is still a rich country, does not spend the money to patrol and police our own borders. These people want to come here and work hard, and we don't want them unless they go through a normal immigration process. Why don't we secure our borders, I don't understand it. What is keeping us from spending the money to secure our borders?

CHARLIE GASPARINO: This is a stupid idea. Mexico isn't the only reason for illegal immigration. If you're sending the check to Mexico you should be sending it to Honduras, and a million other places. The real problem here is ...it's is a national problem, it should be the federal government he is sending the check to. The federal government is not enforcing border laws.

CHERYL CASSONE: This has nothing to do with Mexico, the problem is D.C.

CHRISTIAN DORSEY: It's not just about talking to the Mexicans, it's about talking to the US Congress and realizing its not just about the dollar amount of housing immigrants in jail, it's about the process that takes so long to adjudicate someone's status. The reason it costs so much to house these prisoners, is because they're picked up on simple charges that wouldn't require a lot of jail time, but it takes months and months to adjudicate them and they're staying in our jails and that's on the US Congress and President for not dealing with our immigration system.

NEW FEARS SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIA WILL HAVE BOOMERAGE EFFECT ON U.S AND EUROPE

CHARLES PAYNE: These guys... Where are they going to get their natural gas from come winter? The UK doesn't want financial sanctions, Germany doesn't want energy sanctions, and France is still selling them war ships.

CHARLIE GASPARINO: Economic sanctions that will actually have an impact will hurt everybody. If we froze all their assets, that would hurt our stock market and our banking system.

CHERYL CASSONE: We are going to have a problem when it comes to real estate. A lot of Russian money has been flooding into US real estate assets.

BEN STEIN: I don't think there has ever been an example in human history where a great power has been brought to its knees by economic sanctions. Of course if they're going to hurt the Russians it's going to hurt us too. The only thing we can be doing at this point is having a serious defense buildup. We're dealing with a really aggressive power that is building itself up militarily and its friend China- I think it's time for us to rebuild our defenses instead of economic sanctions.

CHRISTIAN DORSEY: It's the Russian oligarchs that the sanctions are really designed to move. We know ultimately Putin can escalate a war in response to these sanctions that does end up hurting everyone in the long run. If the US and Europe can work together in such a way that squeezes the opportunities for oligarchs to move money around there is a hope that they will in turn influence Putin. That's an attempt to have a diplomatic resolution to all of this before we get to the defense buildup.

TSA OFFERING $15,000 FOR IDEAS TO HELP SPEED UP AIRPORT SECURITY LINES

BEN STEIN: I think they do a great job.

CHERYL CASSONE: We should be offering snacks, peanuts and coke to people so they can chill out as they go through security.

    CHARLIE GASPARINO: Free beer!

CHARLES PAYNE: More workers and more accountability.

CHRISTIAN DORSEY: This is all the rage in business schools, innovation prizes to crowd source good ideas.
