Kate Middleton’s Newest Dress Resembles a Chic Picnic Blanket
New couture for the season? Check! On Friday, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was spotted conducting her usual royal duties in London, but she added plenty of spring in her step with a peachy-red checkered gingham dress. PHOTOS: Kate Middleton Makes a Splash in See-Through Dress The 34-year-old mother of two and her husband, 33-year-old Prince William, were attending the mentoring program of the XLP Project in London, which supports children and teens suffering from emotional challenges. But, as expected, Middleton’s latest ensemble stirred headlines on its own, and it wasn’t only because the dress wasn’t made by her go-to designer Jenny Packham. According to Vanity Fair, the dress is by Kensington-based womenswear brand Eponine, from their Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Furthermore, the Eponine brand describes itself as "inspired by the elegant lines of the Fifties and the unexpected styles of the Sixties." "Every garment is designed and made in London for women who seek out individuality and who desire to be both chic and contemporary," the brand writes on its website. Specifically, it conjures images of a beloved seasonal activity. "Kate — who visited a mentoring program with William today — looks very relaxed and comfortable in what we could see someone calling (though, to be clear, are not calling ourselves!!!) this picnic-blanket-chic look," stated Vanity Fair. Well, we’re saying it: Middleton’s newest dress reminds us of a picnic blanket. However, only a royal like Kate could make this cozy attire look so elegant. See it for yourself below:
