Kate Middleton Makes a Splash in See-Through Dress Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton made jaws drop on Tuesday night at a state dinner in a bold, glittery red dress and show-stopping tiara, welcoming Chinese President Xi Jinping to the United Kingdom in only the finest couture. According to the The Huffington Post, the fiery cap-sleeved gown was custom-made by U.K.-based designer Jenny Packham, one of Middleton's favorites. The tiara, however, was borrowed and “is said to have originally belonged to the Queen Mother.” (But along with her envy-worthy updo and diamond drop earrings, it’s safe to say that Middleton outshined her great grandmother-in-law.) But the glamour didn’t stop there.
