The Met Gala’s Best (and Worst) Fashion Looks

For the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala in New York City, it was a celebration of glamorous getups and, in some cases, epic fashion fails. PHOTOS: The Strangest Looks at the 2013 Met Ball The  star-studded evening, held Monday night, honored British-born designer Charles James, whose figure-hugging couture helped drive American style in the mid-20th century. A far cry from last year’s theme of punk, the night honored fine taste and elegance when it came to women’s wardrobes. And as expected, many celebrities emulated just that on the red carpet.  Considering the charity event is hosted by American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, you would think some of these actors, models, and entertainers would do their best to channel old Hollywood chic. Sure enough, some managed to do just that without a wardrobe fail in sight, while others…not so much.
