What You Need Right Now: 7 Made In America Brands For Patriotic Shopping
Out friends at at Styleite are occasionally guilty of opting for a cheaper version when a designer original is out of reach, and have definitely been known to wait in line at sample sales hoping against hope that they’ll snag some last-season standout and never have to tell a soul when we bought it.

In honor of America’s birthday, and in the spirit of adding conscience to our shopping carts, they’ve scoured the 50 states for Made In America brands they’d actually want to wear.
There are twinkly necklaces, those boots you always try on and don’t just splurge on (do it!), Selvedge denim (really!) and way less American Apparel than you’d think — i.e. none. The best part is, by shopping goods designed, sourced and made right here between our country’s sandy shores, you can skip dressing strictly in stars and stripes to show your true colors.

Boston designer Lana Soussan draws from her mother’s Cherokee Indian background, plus her own desire to blend prep, punk and bohemian vibes into one accessory. Still in its infancy (i.e. crowdfunding on Kickstarter), BLUER DENIM seeks to bring premium denim to American soil, and to our closets for less money than a weekend at a B&B in Maine. The plan is to source and sew the whole line locally, including shirts made of chambray, which is simply not produced in the States right now. Their site speaks to “denim heads”, and will have a unique try-at-home model with a philanthropy angle. Suffice it to say, this is a true blue American brand we are looking forward to shopping.
