  • Black and White
A black and white color combo is a chic fashion must this summer. Whether you opt for stripes or solids, there are several ways to flatter your figure in these hues. Saying good-bye to your fear of stripes is a good place to start.  “If you’re more wide then tall, wear vertical stripes rather than horizontal to flatter your body in the best areas," says celebrity stylist Jacqueline Rezak. If you're not ready to embrace stripes, you can opt for a toned-down look. "Why not add a striped top under your favorite cardigan, vest, or dress?" says ModCloth.com stylist Chelsey Davidson. Another thing to keep in mind when it comes to this monochromatic combo? The key is balance, says New York City-based stylist Sara Cooper. Wear black on part of your body you want to conceal and wear white on the part you want to show off!” She suggests trying a bold black and white print dress or a white pair of skinny jeans with a silk black top.

  • Luminescent Yellow
"Translucent light characterizes this season’s yellow tones,” says Isham Sardouk, Stylesight's Chief Creative Officer. “Synonymous with optimism and energy, this color can boost any silhouette and uplift any accessory!” . Davidson suggests trying a small dose of this sunny hue in a summer sandal. Rezak also suggests a fluorescent clutch or jewelry as a toned-down approach to this bold color.

  • Floral
Florals are "young, fresh, feminine and a great pattern for summer wardrobe," say Stitch Fix stylists Jocelyn Sanchez and Miranda Baham.  They suggest choosing a floral print with a neutral base that incorporates a touch of color without overpowering your overall look.  No one said you have to go overboard; smaller prints are easier to get away with and tend to be universally flattering.

  • Coral/Orange
Coral is a summer style must and one of the hues we look forward to wearing all year round! “When shopping for your go-to summer coral piece, look for a very saturated fabric rather than pastels," say Sanchez and Baham. "Pastels can be tricky to wear and can even wash out some skin tones. Saturated colors are vibrant and look great on anyone!” No worries if you’re not ready for a full on coral ensemble, coral is a great summer jewelry investment that you can use to brighten up any outfit.

  • Turquoise
Turquoise is the color synonymous with summer, so of course it had to make the list! Some of the same rules with shopping for coral also apply for turquoise. The Stitch Fix stylists recommend buying saturated turquoise fabric rather than pastels, to avoid looking washed out. Cooper also suggests having fun with a bright sexy swimsuit or bold turquoise jewelry! It’s very hard to go wrong with this summer favorite!
