DIY: Faux Fireplace Chalkboard
If your home doesn't have a fireplace but you wish it did, now it can!
Blogger Jamie Scott shares some wonderful DIY inspiration for creating your very own faux fireplace at Caught in Grace. There's no chimney required, and even better, her fireplace poses no fire hazard.

OK, so Santa may not be able to slide down this one, but it certainly evokes a merry sentiment and will add a touch of coziness to your home this holiday season.
To get the look, Jamie painted a wooden fireplace mantel white.
Tip: You can purchase the materials to build a mantel from just about any home renovation store. If you want a truly vintage look, you might be able to spot one at an antiques shop or flea market.
She then painted a board with chalkboard paint and slipped it behind the mantel to cover up the outlet.
To complete the look, Jamie decorated the mantelpiece and drew a faux fire.
