Forget that reality TV star Kim Kardashian seriously splurged on a super swanky wedding to rapper Kanye West in Florence that cost a reported $12 million. Let’s focus on the fact that she did manage to save money on one thing: her face.
The 33-year-old mother could have easily demanded the most expensive beauty products for the third most important day of her life (sorry Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries), but instead she opted for inexpensive, easily found products.
Just days after the nuptials, makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic began spilling his coveted secrets behind Kardashian’s highly Instagrammed look to the media. And to get a similar pretty pout? It will only cost you 10 bucks.
To E! Online, Dedivanovic reveals the look he was going for was “natural and timeless,” along with “almost angelic.” And L’Oreal’s liquid lipstick helped to create a kissable lip that works for day or night. According to L’Oreal, the product aims to create a rich, smooth surface to amplify shine.
When it came to Kardashian’s signature smoky eyes, Dedivanovic also relied on wallet-friendly cosmetics, including Urban Decay’s Ink for Eyes Waterproof Precision Eye Pen ($20) for glamorous cat eyes, along with Perversion Mascara, which is set to launch soon. L’Oreal’s Infallible 24 HR Eye Shadow in shimmery Eternal Sunshine was applied for a waterproof, fade-proof finish. That beauty must-have retails for a mere $7.95.
For a flawless face, Dedivanovic preferred to keep things simple. According to E!, he relied on Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Foundation ($39) to provide weightless coverage, along with the brand’s shimmery bronzer to glow even more.
The finisher? Kardashian’s wedding day look wouldn’t be complete without using some of her own cosmetics. Dedivanovic also applied her own individual adhesive lashes, currently being sold on Amazon for less than $6 dollars.
Sounds like a sweet deal to us.
