The Victoria’s Secret model who gave up her career in strutting lingerie for her Christian beliefs is welcoming the New Year in a big way.

Kylie Bisutti posted a selfie on Twitter December 7 with her growing baby bump and the Daily Mail is reporting it’s the first time many fans are learning about the pregnancy.

“8.5 months pregnant,” tweeted the 23-year-old. “I just can’t wait to hold this little baby and meet this little gift God gave me!”

In August, Bisutti revealed exclusively to FOX News Magazine that “having a baby in January” was next for her, among other endeavors.

Bisutti first stirred headlines in April when she publicly announced why she severed ties with the popular lingerie brand. In 2009, she won a contest run by Victoria’s Secret, which led her to walk the fashion show among Angels, like Miranda Kerr. However, Bisutti quit her budding modeling career in 2012, citing dedication to her husband, faith, and the realization she didn’t want to use her body to promote sex. Earlier this year, she released a tell-all, “I’m No Angel: From Victoria’s Secret Model to Role Model,” chronicling her struggles within the fashion industry.

Bisutti allegedly restricted her diet down to “watermelon, pineapple, and water,” bringing her 5-foot, 10-inch body down to 108 pounds to meet industry standards.

Victoria’s Secret did not take the revelation lightly.

“Ms. Bisutti has made numerous fabrications and misstatements of fact regarding her brief association with Victoria’s Secret,” a spokesperson for the brand told Us Weekly. “In 2009, Ms. Bisutti won an online amateur modeling competition and hasn’t worked for us since that year. The prize for the winning contestant was the unique opportunity to a one-time walk in the 2009 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Ms. Bisutti also participated in a swim photo shoot in 2009.”

“That was the extent of Ms. Bisutti’s involvement with Victoria’s Secret,” the spokesperson added. “She was never a Victoria’s Secret ‘Angel’ as defined by the terms of our Angel modeling contract...She has repeatedly fabricated her work experience with Victoria’s Secret–including a relationship that simply did not exist.”

Bisutti’s response to the statement? “All the truth is in the book,” she stated soon after in May. “My book is really not about Victoria’s Secret. It’s about the modeling industry as a whole and about helping girls with self-body image issues, eating disorders and really exposing the entire industry for what it is. It’s not targeting the brand.”

Since then, Bisutti has returned to the fashion world, but in a different way.  She has since launched an online clothing line, titled God Inspired Fashion, featuring religious-themed apparel for men, women, and children with bible verses and proverbs.

“We are really focused on sharing God’s word with the world,” said Bisutti to FOX News Magazine. “There is nothing more powerful than God’s word and we believe it is the only thing that can truly change hearts!”

Bisutti currently lives a quieter life in Montana with her husband. The Daily Mail is also reporting that her own mother is also pregnant, “with a due date just one day apart."
