McDonald’s Singapore unveils bright red ‘Angry Birds’ chicken burger

Look familiar? On the heels of Burger King's Angriest Whopper, McDonald's release bright red burger overseas. (McDonald's Singapore)

Colorful burger buns have been done before

Now they’re being used as movie promo fare.

Just in time for the release of the “Angry Birds” feature film, McDonald’s Singapore has whipped up a fried chicken sandwich with a fiery red bun.

The “Super Red Burger” really takes the bird theme to the next level with a smoky fried chicken patty and a fried egg. It’s topped with lettuce, tomato and a fiery pepper mayo—so, unlike the movie, it might not really be that great for kids.

Aside from the fact that using bird meat to promote a movie about animated feathered friends seems a little strange, we just saw a bright red burger not too long ago.

In March, Burger King rolled out its “Angriest Whopper,” a beef burger with bright red buns, infused with hot sauce.  The Whopper was available in the states but it looks like the Angry Birds chicken sandwich will only be available overseas—for now.
