Now that he's shooting for the Miami Heat, former Phoenix Suns player Goran Dragi has put his Phoenix house on the market. Last month, we reported on his purchase of this $7 million mansion in Miami.

Listed for $1.2 million, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom ranch is located in the Date Palm area of the Arcadia neighborhood, a sought-after Phoenix area named for its date palms.

"A lot of what makes Arcadia popular is the community businesses and the proximity to so many things," says listing agent Lloyd Fox of Long Realty. Old Town Scottsdale is just a 10-minute drive away, and the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is only 15 minutes.

Homes here, says Fox, were custom-built during the 1950s and 1960s, with many having modern updates while retaining their charm. Dragi and his wife, Maya, who grew up in Slovenia together, bought the home two years ago.

"It's a very lush and green area," says Fox, noting that Arcadia is pedestrian-friendly. "You have a really nice sense of community." In fact, for a recent open house, many people arrived on bicycles, and Fox says Dragi often played volleyball with his neighbors. "Pro athlete is just a label for Goran. He's one of the most humble and respectful people I've had the pleasure to work with," says Fox.

On Dragi's property, there's lots of outdoor entertaining space, including a courtyard with a fireplace and barbecue. There's also a pool. In the kitchen are all the goods for hosting a party, including a large island, custom cabinetry, and Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances.

Hardwood floors throughout and an open floor plan offer a warm space for entertaining guests. In the den are floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and a built-in desk, the makings of a perfect home office.

"They felt very comfortable in this home," Fox says of the couple.
