Pitcher Chris Capuano is headed back to his MLB roots: The free agent recently purchased a four-bedroom custom home in Scottsdale, AZ, for $1.7 million. The Southwestern-style home is located close to Chase Field, where he made his Major League debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2003.

The lefty has spent the subsequent 12 years bouncing around the league, pitching for six teams, including the Mets and, most recently, the Yankees.

His brand-new, 6,133-square-foot home occupies 10 acres in the Sonoran desert, with views and architecture to match. Adobe walls flank red-tiled flooring in the entryway, and dark wooden logs stretch across the ceilings throughout the home. Curved walls and stepped shelves divide the rooms, creating plenty of quiet space within the open layout.

The well-traveled pitcher will have plenty of room to host the many friends he's made during his tour of the league. But those inclined to privacy can sleep in the secluded guest casita, which offers its own bedroom, living room, and greenhouse.

Desert digs deserve first-class outdoor space, and this home delivers. A spa, barbecue, and fireplace are located near the large swimming pool, creating the perfect environment for long swims and late-night fireside chats.
