Actor Andy Daly has made memorable appearances on shows ranging from "The Office" (he played a randy Ben Franklin) and "Eastbound & Down" (he played a hapless school principal). But he's become best known for his role on the Comedy Central show "Review." Inhabiting the role of uptight critic Forrest MacNeil, Daly rates a variety of life experiences on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.

So when we saw that the comic and his wife, Carri Levinson, had listed their Spanish-style home in Glendale for $650,000, we inspected it with a critical eye.

It may not have the amenities of the multimillion-dollar spec homes sprouting up around Los Angeles, but what it lacks in flash, it makes up for in charm. We give the home's curb appeal an enthusiastic five stars.

Built in 1928, the three-bedroom home has a vintage Southern California feel, but that doesn't mean it's old. Listing agent Richard Stanley says the home's had a number of upgrades since it was purchased by Daly in 2006. Its mix of vintage style and modern conveniences also merit five stars!

Glendale is a "red-hot area" appealing to folks in the entertainment industry, Stanley says. "In Glendale you can get so much more house, and you have great city services. You don't have the neglect of city services that you see in L.A."

The home is a "fantastic value," Stanley adds. "I'd call it a rarity in the market, because it's priced well, in move-in condition, and it's charming." Stanley says he's heard from a number of interested buyers since the home hit the market and expects to hold one more open house. We'll take the local expert's word for it and bestow yet another top rating on the price.

Final rating for this charming California home? Five stars. Forrest MacNeil would be proud.
