Tailgating season is officially here and the chefs at Lambaeu Field whipped up a monster meal to celebrate the start of Green Bay Packers football season.

With the help of sausage maker Johnsonville, Delaware North, the company that runs concessions at Lambeau Field, the Packers’ home stadium in Wisconsin, prepared a 120-yard, 250 pound bratwurst on Sunday.

“It started out as sort of a joke of an idea and we kind of challenged Johnsonville for our 100th anniversary to make us a 100-yard brat,” Heath Barbato, Executive Chef at Lambeau Field, told WCBD news.

Johnsonville decided to create a sausage to match the full length of the 120-yard field. Luckily, the meat didn’t go to waste. A custom-made grill made from 360-feet of stainless steel was fashioned for the party.

Event attendees raised about $40,000 for local charities including the Humane Society, which brought pets to adopt on site.

Though the attempt is being heralded as a record-breaker and the “world’s longest” sausage, a spokeswoman for Guinness confirmed to FoxNews.com that this Johnsonville brat was not an official attempt for a title.

And while 360 feet of meat is impressive, it pales in comparison to the current record holders. The world’s heaviest sausage weighed in 3,8402 pounds and was created by Kayseri Greater Municipality in Kayseri, Turkey in Oct. 2009. The world’s longest sausage was completed in Dec. 2014 by S.C. Carrefour Romania S.A. & Aldis SRL Calarasi  in Romania clocking in at a whopping 38.99 miles in length.
