For sale: Dick Tomey's house in Hawaii for $3.195 milion

Former college football coach Dick Tomey is ready to say "Aloha" to Hawaii. Lured back to the mainland by the University of South Florida earlier this year to serve as the associate athletic director, the longtime coach has put his Honolulu home on the market for $3,195,000.

Located in the affluent Kahala neighborhood, the 3,176-square-foot home is close to beaches and the Waialae Country Club. The gated, four-bedroom house has three full bathrooms, a pool/spa combo, and plenty of plant life for shade and privacy. There's also a guest cabana with an outdoor shower.

Winner of 183 games over his 29 seasons as a college football head coach, Tomey landed his first head coaching gig in 1977 at the University of Hawaii, where he built a winning program and stayed until 1986. He loved the islands so much that he bought this Oahu home in 2002 for $1.5 million.

Tomey moved on to a successful stint with the University of Arizona, leading the Wildcats to seven bowl games.

His ties to Tucson remained strong even after his resignation after the 2000 season. In fact, he auctioned off a week's stay in his Hawaiian getaway to raise money for a former Wildcats player diagnosed with a rare bone tumor.
