Ford has lifted the hood on its new Voodoo V8 engine.
In a video showcasing the extreme weather testing that it subjects its cars to, the automaker reveals the Mustang Shelby GT350's 500-plus horsepower 5.2-liter mill for the first time. Engine geeks rejoice!
The prominent cold air intake probably came in handy during the high temperature test, less so when the engine was subjected to sub-freezing temperatures and frost.
Have fun trying to spot all of the other technical details while we wait for Ford to dish out more information on the flat-plane crank motor closer to when the car goes on sale sometime next year.
Ford hasn’t said exactly when that will be yet, but you’ll have the first opportunity to buy one on January 17th when the first GT350 build slot is auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, but don’t expect to pay anywhere near list price. The first 2015 Ford Mustang sold at the auction for the same charity last year for $300,000.
