Not all hotel restaurants are created equal.

Ibiza, one of the premier destinations for international party people, will soon be home to the world’s most expensive hotel restaurant.

The new Hard Rock Hotel in Playa de Bossa will house Michelin-starred chef Paco Rancero’s  Sublimotion restaurant. The concept is being billed as an “unparalleled gastro-sensory venture” according to a recent press release.

The exclusive private dining room is limited to just 12 guests who pay 1,500 euros a head or about $2,070. Guests can also choose from a selection of a la carte items.

So what exactly do you get for two grand? The official menu has not been released, but if you order the full experience, expect to be served 20 courses over the evening.

The dining experience will also combine atmosphere changes – the humidity and temperature of the room will be adjusted throughout the meal—combined with unique musical arrangements to enhance the ambiance.

“Diners can expect the unexpected as they taste their way through the delectable menu created exclusively for Sublimotion. The dishes will cause a stir among the most neglected senses; from moments of humor, pleasure, fear, reflection and nostalgia, diners will be wandering through a world of sensations from the North Pole where they will enjoy a cold snack that they carve on their own iceberg or to the baroque Versailles where the elegance of a rose is sure to melt in their palate.”

Sounds a bit overwhelming.

The new Hard Rock will be Ibiza’s largest 5-star property, with 493 rooms, a state of the art spa, multiple swim-up pools and a four other restaurants throughout the resort-which will offer more affordable fare.
