Cars.com study says the most-American car is a Toyota

For the fourth year in a row, the most American car sold in the United States is a Toyota.

The best-selling, Indiana and Kentucky-built Camry topped Cars.com’s annual American-made index, which ranks vehicles through a combination of factors that includes the amount of domestically-sourced parts used in their construction, how many are built in the U.S. and how many are sold. The idea behind the list is that the higher the numbers, the more Americans are employed.

Coming in second was the last vehicle from an American brand to top the list, the Ford F-150 pickup, which didn’t even make the Top 10 last year, but returns thanks to an increase in domestic parts content on recent models. Ford's best-selling truck is manufactured at factories located in Michigan and Missouri.

Rounding out the top five are the Ohio-built Honda Accord, Indiana-built Toyota Sienna minivan and Ohio-built Honda Pilot.

The Chevrolet Traverse, Toyota Tundra, Jeep Liberty, and Traverse clones the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave are six through 10.
