iMag’s 2012 Workout Playlist
Great music to get you pumped for the gym.
Are you already slacking on that New Year's resolution to workout? iMag put together a mix of our favorite songs to get you pumped up and back to the gym.
iMag’s 2012 Workout Playlist:
“What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger),” Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson is back, and she’s better than ever! You might think the phrase, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” is overused and cliché, but leave it to Clarkson to spin around. Every time we listen to this song we can’t help but feel more confident, stronger, and sexy.
“Set Fire to the Rain,” Adele
Here’s a real woman making real music; we absolutely love Adele. Her soulful voice makes the world a better place (and yes, that includes the gym).
“Stuck Like Glue,” Sugarland
Okay, this song can get on our nerves, and sticks like glue in our heads all day, but we can’t deny the sugary boost of energy we get each time we hear it.
“Born This Way,” Lady Gaga
Even Lady Gaga wasn’t “born this way;” she works hard for her perfectly sculpted body, and ladies, we can too.
“Take Your Mama,” Scissor Sisters
This song is incredible. It can, and will, put you in a good mood. Listen to this song on repeat if necessary, and you'll want to run that extra mile.
“Dog Days Are Over,” Florence + The Machine
This song takes you on a journey; its rock and soul tune will make you want to dance, run, sing, and move. The more you listen to it, the more you'll like it. We say, it's a perfect workout companion.
“Without You (Glee Cast Version),” Glee Cast
iMag’s playlist wouldn’t be complete without a song from the Glee Cast. Although it has a slow intro, the pick-up after the first minute makes it well worth the wait. And are we the only ones motivated by the thought of someone singing these sweet words this to us?
“Give Me Everything,” Pitbull (feat. Ne-Yo, Afrojack & Nayer)
For all you cardio heads, this song will get you moving and keep you moving, and no doubt encourage you to give everything you've got.
“Walk,” Foo Fighters
It’s not just Dave Grohl’s raspy, screaming, sexy voice that we love; this song is a musical motivator. Just when you think it's about to slow down, it speeds up, and just when you think the song’s about to stop, it keeps going. We bet you won’t find anyone walking out of the gym with this song playing on their iPod.
“We Found Love,” Rihanna (feat. Calvin Harris)
When you’re at the gym, try to resist the temptation of singing out loud about how you “found love in a hopeless place” (but this song’s so good we might even forgive you).
“Born to Run,” Bruce Springsteen
iMag’s list also wouldn’t be complete without a Springsteen number, and what's more motivating than listening to Bruce sing, “baby we were born to run” while on the treadmill?
“Moves Like Jagger,” Maroon 5 (feat. Christina Aguilera)
If this song is already on your iPod, we’ve got a feeling it’s there to stay. Keep listening and eventually you, too, will have the moves like Jagger.
