Best Burger JointFounded in 1948, In-N-Out Burger was the first drive-thru hamburger stand in California. Today this family owned business is known by locals and tourists alike as a great stop for delicious burgers and fries. This is the perfect first stop when you arrive in California for "quality you can taste."
-
The Golden WonderThe Golden Gate Bridge took a little over four years to build in the 1930s and spans 1.7 miles. It is an amazing site to see and an international symbol for the city of San Francisco. The bridge connects the city of San Francisco to the County of Marin. It's a great route to take on your way up to Sonoma County.

The Scenic RouteMany hotels in Sonoma offer bike rentals. Hopping on a bike en route to wineries is the way to go. You can take in the beautiful scenery, exercise a bit to counter all the wine and cheese, and get the lay of the land.
-
No Wimpy Wines!Ravenswood Winery's saying says it all -- when you're ready for some real wine tasting this is the place for you. The wines are delicious and the property is a site to see. Check their listings for wine tastings and tours.

Picnic PerfectWine and dine in Sonoma. Visit the The Sonoma Cheese Factory to pick up your picnic basics and then camp out in the center of town.
-
Beauty by the BayBack in the city, the Ferry Building is a must-see site in San Francisco. At the center of all the city neighborhoods, you can visit the indoor marketplace (be sure to stop by the olive oil stand) and gaze out at the San Francisco Bay.
-
Tastes of San FranLocated in The Mission neighborhood, Tartine Bakery and Cafe has the most delicious menu options. Favorite pick: The fromage blanc and banana pressed sandwich. The lines are long, but worth the wait. Walk around the area and visit Bi-rite Creamery and Bakeshop for an afternoon ice cream.
-
Live a Little, Learn a LittleLocated in the Golden Gate Park the California Academy of Sciences Natural History Museum is a great stop for the whole family. Explore the exhibits on the natural world and then stop by the Japanese Tea Garden located in the park.
-
Sail Away in SausalitoSausalito is a short distance away from the city of San Francisco and totally worth a stop en route back to or from the city. Grab a cup of coffee and walk down to the waterfront to admire all of the beautiful boats. Even if you're not in the market to buy one, you'll appreciate the breathtaking views.
