Woodstock RevisitedThis weekend marks the 40th Anniversary of the Woodstock Festival and Arts Fair, one of the most memorable and significant events of the 1960s. Many music-lovers are returning to the site of Woodstock, a farm in the town of Bethel located in Sullivan County, NY, to pay tribute to some of the greatest bands of all time.
We spoke to Herb Clark of the Sullivan County Visitors Association to find out what to do and see this weekend in Bethel and the surrounding towns in Sullivan County.
Sneak peak: It’s not all song and dance! There are some great things to do and see in Woodstock outside of the music realm. -
Places to StayYou don’t have to sleep in the mud this time around! You can choose anything from camping sites to full service resorts. Mr. Clark recommends going to scva.net and searching the site for accommodations that suit your taste. The planning and map section on the Web site will help you decide where to stay and how far your lodging choice is from Bethel.
iMag’s pick: ECCE Bed and Breakfast. This award winning mountain house has spectacular views of the Delaware River and is only fifteen miles from the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

Take a Trip Back in TimeYour first stop in Bethel should be the original site of the Woodstock Festival, The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and Museum. The center has an incredible outdoor performing arts center and museum, bringing you back in time to 1969.
This weekend you can catch the Bethel Woods Music Festival, tour the museum to hear the story of Woodstock and the 60s, and catch the Woodstock Revisited book signing.

Gone Fishin'If you're a spending a weekend in Sullivan County, you'll want to stop by The Catskill Fly Fishing Center & Museum. The museum is dedicated to preserving America's fly fishing heritage. You can walk through the exhibits and education center, and even catch a demonstration.
-
Broadway in the WoodsMr. Clark recommends visiting Forestburgh Playhouse. It is the oldest running equity theatre in New York State. This weekend you can visit the Playhouse to catch their performance of RENT.
-
Unique ShoppingIn your down time, take a walk through the villages along the Delaware River and visit different antique and pottery shops, as well as a variety of flea markets. The Sullivan County Visitors Association Web site has the top antique stores and flea markets to visit and maps to plan your route.
Check out iMag's tips for tracking down the best finds at flea markets.
-
Outdoor FunThere are countless outdoor activities to try along the Delaware River. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, rafting, fishing and golfing -- they've got it all!

Peace, Love and MusicOur last (and more important) question for Mr. Clark was how to retrace the events of the Woodstock Festival. “The only way to retrace the events of Woodstock would be to carefully pull off Route 87, Route 17 or Route 17B and imagine a parking lot full of abandoned cars and young people on foot walking to one of the greatest events in history,” Mr. Clark said. We think iMag viewers are up for the task.

A special thanks to Herb Clark and The Sullivan Visitors Association.
