Maggie GyllenhaalWhat will they wear? How about their hair? We asked our experts for their Academy Award red carpet predictions and got the scoop on our favorite nominees.
Maggie Gyllenhaal
Nominated for best supporting actress in Crazy HeartStyle: Maggie has great, great style. She's one of Hollywood's most fashion forward young stars and we love to watch her try new things. Her body also looks better than it ever has which we saw in that ultra-slim and sexy mermaid RM Roland style she wore to the Globes. Since then however, she's worn a vintage dress (70's Yves' St. Laurent at the nominees luncheon) and a vintage inspired dress (Lanvin at the National Board of Review Awards). We think for the Oscars she'll go in this direction - maybe vintage Halston, for example. We also think she'll stay away from anything to froofy and instead she'll choose something slinkier.
Beauty: While Maggie tends to stick to neutral makeup, she may try something glamorous and retro like a rich red lip. And while she wore her hair in an up-do at the Globes, we think she'll wear her bob down with soft waves, maybe pulled back on one side.

Penelope CruzPenelope Cruz
nominated for best supporting actress in NineStyle: Penelope's style is almost flawless. For award ceremonies she's always glamorous, elegant and lately almost always in black (wearing Armani Prive at the Globes and L'Wren Scott at the SAG Awards). She did switch it up at the Spanish Film Academy's Goya Awards in a white strapless style, but we think Cruz will bring on some color for the Oscars! And while we don't expect her to try anything bright, we wouldn't be surprised if she wore a plum, eggplant, cobalt or royal blue style.
Beauty: We expect Penelope to wear natural make-up and most notably, a nude lip. It's what she loves and looks best in. As for hair, the star has worn her it long and loose to every award ceremony this season, and so we think she will try something different - possibly a simple and sophisticated chignon style.

Vera FarmigaVera Farmiga
nominated for best supporting actress in Up in the AirStyle: Vera has curves and she knows what look great on her. We've only seen her make a few style statements on the red carpet, and almost always she's wearing a Grecian silhouette in a neutral color - champagne or white (Marchesa at the Bafta Awards and J'Mendel at the SAG Awards). Because this is Vera's first big moment, she'll wear what works - a natural waisted gown with a flowing skirt in a soft color - possibly Monique Lhullier. She'll also most definitely call attention to her neckline.
Beauty: Vera's porcelain skin needs a punch with either a strong lip or eye. We think she'll opt for a smoky eye and a soft pink lip on Sunday. Like she's done in the past, Vera loves romantic hair and we think soft waves will be her style of choice!

Anna KendrickAnna Kendrick
Nominated for best supporting actress in Up in the AirStyle: Hollywood's newest sweetheart is going to play it super safe at the Oscars. She wore a one-shouldered Marchesa gown to the Globes that was too fussy and too mature. And while we loved her purple Alberta Ferretti style from the SAG Awards, it received mixed reviews. Finally, she bombed in a yellow Pucci mini-dress at the BAFTA Awards. So, Kendrick is not going to want to make a fashion faux pas at her first Oscars, even more so because she is nominated. We predict a safe style choice, maybe Armani, probably black.
Beauty: Anna will want to look young and fresh on Sunday. Her makeup will definitely be bare, and her hair will most probably be pulled back in soft, loose waves.

Sandra BullockSandra Bullock
Nominated for best actress in The Blind SideStyle: The pressure is ON for Bullock, who is the likely winner for the best actress award. She's the star of the evening and needs to look it. She was panned for her Easter egg dress from the Globes and her Alexander McQueen SAG style was forgettable. We predict the star will wear white - this color has made a major impact on the red carpet of late and Bullock will be positively bridal - the star of the evening.
Beauty: Bullock will want to glow, and her makeup will help. We see the star with rosy, dewy cheeks, pink lips, and soft waves.
