One Shouldered StylesThere was no bigger red carpet trend this year than dresses with one shoulder or one sleeve. We thought Kim Kardashian looked chic and simple in Ina Soltani while Chloe Sevigny looked fun and sexy in Isaac Mizrahi.

Red Hot or NotRed is a tough red carpet color - it can often look flashy instead of fabulous. This year however, one of our best dressed rocked in red Versace! We're talking about Gossip Girl Blake Lively, who won our vote for second best dressed at this year's Emmys. Debra Messing looked lovely in another one shouldered style by Michael Kors while Hayden Pannetiere fell short in draped J. Mendel.
-
Cake ToppersFrothy, pink and cupcake like, both Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette opted for pink princess styles with tiered bottoms from Monique Lhullier.
-
Sunny with a Chance of CloudsYellow is our new favorite red carpet color. It's unexpected, bright and beautiful on brunettes in particular. That's why we loved Jennifer Love Hewitt in flowing Max Azria. The Office's Melora Hardin also garnered much attention for her lemon meringue number from Ali Rahimim which we thought was the second worst style at this year's Emmys.
-
The Blue CarpetSeemed as if Hollywood's star power was feeling blue - cobalt, aqua and midnight! While we were thrilled to see Sarah Silverman all dressed up, we weren't that excited about Vanessa William's gown, were most disappointed by Christina Applegate's overdone and messy Basil Soda dress with black beading.
-
Purple HazeWhat a color! Deep purple is the perfect hue to get noticed on the red carpet, especially at a fall event. In J. Mendel, Lindsay Price looked perfect while our feelings for Ginnifer Goodwin's Yves St. Laurent style are mixed- we love the color, but aren't crazy about the exaggerated sweet heart neckline.
-
A Rose is a RoseShades of pink were a definite red carpet trend, specifically a rose colored hue. While we loved that Mila Kunis showed off her shoes in Yves St. Laurent, Kyra Sedgwick's L'Wren Scott style looked like curtains. Mariska Hargitay's Zac Posen style was both elegant and sexy.
-
Short and SparklyWe loved, LOVED that Kristen Chenoweth wore a short and beaded Zuhair Murad dress. It was as modern and fun as the Emmy winner herself. Jeanne Tripplehorn also opted for short and sparkly Naeem Khan, which we had Big Love for!
-
Black and BasicBasic black is never absent on the red carpet. This year? Jenna Fischer looked glam in Reem Acra while Sally Field was too matronly for the actress who still looks fabulous in her 60s!
-
Glittering GownsCertain stars opted to glitter down the red carpet! Sandra Oh looked stunning in Marchesa while unfortunately the cowl neck on Jamie Lynn Sigler's Donna Karan gown was way too long.
-
Grecian Goddess'Grecian styles continue to be a red carpet staple - Gossip Girl Leighton Meester went for white Bottega Venneta while Kate Walsh chose J. Mendel. We loved both styles although some would say Leighton looked like she was truly headed to a toga party while Kate's style looked like it had oversized pockets.
-
Mad WomenAll eyes were on the ladies of the ad show phenom who crossed the gamut as far as fashion is concerned. While curvy Christina Hendricks stuck to a L'Wren retro look, January Jones went for futuristic Versace, which we loved. Elisabeth Moss looked pretty in pink Reem Acra, but the dress desperately needed a steam - wrinkles are a red carpet catastrophe!
-
Emmy's Worst DressedUnfortunately our worst dressed award goes to one of our favorite comediennes, Tina Fey. We were so impressed to see Fey in this gold gown at another award ceremony. We were exctied to see that she was both funny and glamorous! But this year her Gucci gown was boring, predictable and nothing special!
-
Emmy's Best DressedOlivia Wilde was the most glamorous actress at the Emmys this year in beaded Marchesa. The only thing more stunning than the one shouldered gown was the sheer view from the back. For more award style, click here!
