Follow these steps to mend a broken heart.

No matter what anyone says, getting over someone who was once special to you is just the worst. Plain and simple. When you know time is pretty much the only remedy, the clock seems to tick slower than ever. That's why we put together a daily to-do list, to make time speed up and sadness subside. By engaging in these ten steps, you can focus less on the situation and more on what you yourself are accomplishing in order to move forward. And before you know it, you'll be leaps and bounds ahead of where you are today.

1. Get out of bed.
2. Put on make-up (if you look beautiful, at least the world won't know you feel like crap).
3. Figure out what you can do today that will make you feel good.
Possible Ideas: Attempt to cook something delicious, go on a run, don't go on a run, buy a new dress, paint your toenails, go out for drinks, watch a sappy romantic comedy etc.
4. Invest your energy in your work. Fill the void of your relationship by putting in extra time and effort in at the office. Your coworkers will take you more seriously and you will reap the rewards sooner than you think.
5. Talk to someone you love whom you know loves you back.
6. Clean out the clutter. Get rid of all the things that remind you of him and/or are taking up space. See this as a new beginning.
7. Cry a little bit. (Re-apply your make-up.)
8. Plan a dream getaway. Even if you can't afford it right now, find inspiration by looking toward the future.
9. Make plans with people. Whether they're old friends or new acquaintances, be as gregarious as you can without overdoing it. Keep busy and time will fly.
10. Most importantly, remember who you were before you met him, and why he fell in love with you.
