The Dos And Don'ts of Bridal Makeup
Avoid a makeup mess on your big day!
On the most important day of your life, the last thing you want to worry about is your mascara running or your face looking too shiny. Fortunately, there are certain things you can do to ensure that your makeup stays put and looks fabulous for the big day. iMag went to Jeannie Mai, celebrity stylist, makeup artist and David’s Bridal Style Council Member, for her dos and don'ts for bridal makeup.
DO sleep as much as possible the night before to avoid dark and heavy eye circles. For tips on getting a better night's sleep click here.
DON'T over-apply makeup to your eyes and be mistaken for a drag queen. You want to look fresh and natural on your wedding day.
DO use matte-style makeup. It will help prevent shine and doesn't reflect light. If you're having a warm-weather wedding, this is a major makeup must.
DON'T experiment with new makeup products on your wedding day. You never know how a new product will react with your skin or if it will complement your skin tone. Always test products out prior to using them.
DO go for waterproof mascara to avoid make-up disasters as you tear up on your walk down the aisle. Also make sure you wear at least two layers.
DON'T overdo your lashes. You don't want your man to be unable to see your eyes because they are drooping with heavy, clumpy lashes.
DO go for foundations with yellow undertones, as they work best for the camera.
DON’T go for trendy makeup styles, as you may not like them twenty years from now. Keep it classic and simple.
DO tweeze your eyebrows the morning of your wedding. Try your best you to avoid irritation and redness.
DON'T wear false eyelashes if you are not comfortable with them.
