5 Skincare Rules for Your Wedding Day
Your guide to becoming a blemish-free bride.
Every bride wants to look picture perfect on her big day. But the stress of planning a wedding can do a number on your skin causing breakouts, dryness and even puffy eyes. To help ensure you're a blemish-free bride, iMag went to Jeannie Mai, celebrity stylist, makeup artist and David’s Bridal Style Council Member, for her rules on getting a flawless face for the big day!
Rule # 1: Get a Facial Far in Advance
Do not get one within five days of your wedding. Facials can initially cause your skin to become irritated and breakout. Therefor it's important to give your skin some time to heal in order to see results and benefit from your facial.
Rule # 2: Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
Drink a ton of water. Nothing clears blemishes and oily skin like a good healthy eight to ten glasses everyday. Make water your best friend for the months leading up to your big day.
Rule # 3: Keep On Cleansing
If you don't already have one (shame on you!), start a daily cleansing routin. Remember to remove all of your makeup every night, wash your face when you wake-up and use a daily moisturizer. You should also continue these habits long after the big day as well!
Rule # 4: Get Some Rest
Get your beauty sleep. Not getting enough shut eye can make your skin dull, so make sure to get a healthy amount for at least a month before the wedding.
Rule # 5: Stick to Your Birth Control Regime
Try not to switch your birth control right before your wedding day. Depending on your prescription, it can make a dramatic difference in your skin and it can take time for your body to. Consult your doctor before making any changes.
